No Second Place Winner versus No Friggin’ Clue

I was cleaning out my bookshelves the other day and I came across a 25-year-old copy of Bill Jordan’s No Second Place Winner.

That’s not all that unusual. I have ancient copies of Massad Ayoob’s In The Gravest Extreme and Stress Fire along with a number of other shooting and law enforcement books.

What is weird is that my copy of No Second Place Winner is signed to me personally by Bill Jordan and I have absolutely no memory of meeting him or sending away for a signed copy.

The only thing less likely…

…than Newt Gingrich accepting a Cabinet post from Mitt Romney is Mitt Romney offering him a post in the first place.

Excellent

I’d steal this cartoon and post it here, but then I’d be in violation of Scoff’s trademark.

One of the reasons why I won’t be surprised…

…if the John Doe investigation into Governor Walker’s time as Milwaukee County Executive suddenly comes out with some very damaging accusations right before the recall election:

Media Trackers is able to confirm that 43 current employees of the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office signed the petition to recall Governor Scott Walker. A total of 70 names on iverifytherecall.com matched the names of current employees at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office, but not all could be completely confirmed at the time of publication. The employees signing the Walker recall petition range in stature from a Deputy District Attorney, to at least 19 Assistant District Attorneys, and a host of support staff.

I don’t think that word means what you think it means

Obama warns justices against 'activism' on health law.

Judicial activism is when a Court finds a right to Abortion in the “penumbra” of the Constitution.

Striking down a law that would fully eviscerate the idea of a Federal government limited to enumerated powers is self-defense.
