When did we stop living under a government of laws?

President Obama is apparently enacting parts of the failed Dream Act on his own initiative. Unlike many conservative-type people,  I’m actually in favor of the Dream Act…what I’m against is President Obama acting like he’s King Obama:

If you thought George W. Bush was a dictator because of warrantless wiretapping & Guantanamo, why aren’t you screaming about Barack Obama continuing almost all the “evils” of the Bush administration PLUS doing all of the above?

Wow, in her case, I suppose justice really must have been blind

The person who wrote this used to be a criminal prosecutor:

I am staunchly opposed to concealed carry because,  in my opinion, only overly suspicious or dangerous people feel the need to carry concealed guns in the normal course of daily life.

  1. As a prosecutor, I would think she probably saw plenty of cases where the victim hadn’t been suspicious enough.
  2. As a prosecutor, I would think she had plenty of cases where the criminal had been illegally carrying a weapon. The lack of a concealed carry permit hadn’t dissuaded the “dangerous people” from carrying a gun anyhow.
  3. As a citizen, it scares the hell out of me that a former prosecutor feels her personal opinion trumps my Constitutional and natural right to defend myself from the sort of people she used to spend all day putting in jail.

It would be breast implants.

That’s right, tadalafil thumb not nuclear weapons, not anthrax, not even unions.

Definitely, breast implants.

I think I know why class rhetoric doesn’t work with lower-middle class Republican voters

I know more than a few lower-middle class folks who vote Republican. They’re the people many Democrats just can’t understand. They seem to vote against their economic interests AND they don’t respond to attacks on the rich.

But I have a theory.

The lower-middle class Republicans are much closer to the people who live off the Government than they are to the people who own private jets.

From their point of view, cialis usa drugstore government taxes them and gives their money to people who don’t work and to people who work for the government and enjoy a much more stable, capsule secure, and often higher-paying career than they do.

To them, rich people just aren’t part of the equation.

On a day-to-day basis, they see where their money goes and they don’t like it.

In other words, it’s much easier to resent the people you know, than the people you know only from TV.

Has anyone else noticed…

…that most of the “Recall Walker” signs are gone, but many of the “I Stand with Walker” signs remain?

When people in Kansas or rural Wisconsin support Republicans…

…some folks on the left call them idiots for voting “against their economic interests.”

But when Warren Buffet supports Democrats because he wants them to act against his economic interests, he’s a genius.

So, I got stopped by a cop last night for the first time since I started carrying a gun again

I handed him my license and my permit and he handed the permit back with no comment.

No panic. No “where’s the weapon, sir?”

He was more interested in where my insurance card was.

And that’s the way it should be.
