In an article about those interactive-voice-response systems you get when you call most big companies…

…I found this interesting little tidbit:

Americans spent 43 billion minutes on the line with an I.V.R. in 2007, best viagra prescription and only one caller in ten was satisfied.

And, yet, these companies would still rather make their customers unhappy than pay a few extra bucks to have a real, live, human being treat them with a little bit of respect.
