I never take it seriously…

…when doomsayers make dire predictions about what will happen if we cut government spending.

Let’s say this year we double government spending.

Then, one year later, we try to cut that new greatly-increased spending by 25%.

What do you think would happen?

Yep, the usual suspects would immediately start wailing about how all the children would starve and all the firemen would have to be fired.

We’ve all been getting by with less for more than two years. Now it’s time for the various levels of government to, in the words of America’s other first black President, “feel our pain.”
