Inside Man is worth a night out.

Who knew Spike Lee could make a good movie that wasn’t obviously about race?

Excellent film.

Highly recommended.

Makes Brokeback Mountain look like a movie about a couple of gay cowboys.

(Gratuitous shot? Yes. Satisfying? Completely.)

V for Vendetta vs. C for Crazy.

I just saw V for Vendetta.

It was pretty entertaining.

And I’m not particulary bothered by the “terrorist” aspect of the plot.

Like most action flicks, viagra generic cialis there’s a good guy, help some bad guys, capsule and a lot of things that go boom.

I like that sort of thing, so I enjoyed the movie.

That said…

…I’m wondering if it’s a coincidence that in the last couple of days I’ve twice heard callers to WPR proclaim that 9/11 was a government plot.

You know…no planes really hit the Pentagon…explosives brought down the twin towers…it was all masterminded by George Bush to provide an excuse to attack Iraq.

V for Vendetta also features a plot that has a fascist government taking power after manufacturing a terrorist attack.

What I’d like these conspiracy-theory crackpots to realize is that V for Vendetta is fiction.

And so is any claim that 9/11 was planned and perpetrated by George W. BushIsrael…or Unocal.

I was right, Brokeback Mountain won.

I know Brokeback Mountain didn’t win the Oscar for best picture.

But a couple of days ago I posted that the Brokeback backers would win no matter what.

My exact words were:

If it loses…the Left will say it’s just another example of America’s rampant homophobia and intolerance.

And here is the exact reaction of a gay man in San Francisco when ‘Crash’ won the Oscar:

“It’s an outright sign of homophobia in our country. (‘Crash’) won no awards before this. It makes me sick.”

I wish I could take credit for this prediction, cialis viagra but some future events are so obvious even the Psychic Friends Network could get them right.

Brokeback Mountain wins…no matter what.

If Brokeback Mountain wins the Oscar for Best Picture, viagra canada recipe the Left will claim it’s because mainstream America has come to embrace homosexuality.

If it loses…the Left will say it’s just another example of America’s rampant homophobia and intolerance.

And the Oscar goes to…

Why I love the Oscars

The Oscars save me the trouble of seeing a bunch of self-righteous, viagra generic cure self-indulgent crap every year.

I just wait to see what’s nominated and then I avoid those pictures like the plague.

With the following possible exceptions:

Anything up for a technical/special effects award.

Sometimes the animated stuff is decent (unless it’s foreign).

Anyone else sick of having gay cowboys shoved down their throat?

It feels like everywhere I turn there’s a glowing story about Brokeback Mountain.

And now it just won viagra medicine 0, buy viagra 5142956.story?coll=ny-entertainment-headlines”>Four Golden Globes.

(Two additional Golden Globes were given to people for playing a gay writer. And a transexual man. I have nothing against gays, writers, or transexuals, but isn’t enough enough?)

Doesn’t it seem like the movie critics, the press, and the award shows are pushing this movie a little too hard?

Brokeback Mountain is NOT a breakaway cross-over hit.

To date it’s made $32,074,517.

In the same six week period Memoirs of a Geisha made $47,314,182, but no one is calling it a hit.

Hell, Fun With Dick & Jane made $94,245,955 in just FOUR weeks.

In the exact same six week period that Brokeback Mountain has been out, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe made $264,020,859!

Now THAT is a cross-over, breakaway hit.

Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against gays AND I’m an agnostic not a Christian, but I find it funny that there’s been so much commentary about what Brokeback Mountain’s “success” means and very little talk about the significance of Narnia’s truly huge box office.

Everyone else has had more sex than me.

That’s not an admission.

Well, discount viagra buy it’s not JUST an admission.

It’s also the title of a very charming music video from an apparently defunct Aussie band named TISM.

Don’t watch if you’re offended by the word “sex.” Otherwise, best viagra cialis it’s as clean as it is cute.

Murderball

I finally saw Murderball, viagra canada treatment tonight.

It’s supposed to be a documentary about Quad Rugby (rugby in a wheelchair).

It’s really a documentary about courage, search competition, and craziness.

I only wish I could give the producers of the film a standing ovation.
