Why is Madison doing better than Milwaukee?

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had an article today about how much better Madison is doing economically than Milwaukee is.

It’s doing better for the same reason that a mugger is better off than his victim.

Trust me, viagra usa medicine if Madison wasn’t able to live like a vampire off the taxes the rest of us pay it would be known as “that little village near Watertown.”

Calling something a mess is easy, calling for the courage to clean it up is difficult.

In a blog entry today, tadalafil discount Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane ridiculed George Bush for wanting to “stay the course” in Iraq.

Mr. Kane said:

Frankly, click I’m tired of hearing him declare we won’t leave Iraq “as long as I’m president”. That’s easy for him to say since he’s outa there at the end of his term.

The rest of us have to live with this mess.

First off, how is Mr. Kane “living” with this “mess?” Is he being shot at? Is he doing without nylons or planting a Victory Garden? I humbly submit that Mr. Kane’s life hasn’t changed one bit due to the invasion of Iraq…other than give him a great deal of fodder for his weekly columns.

Secondly, this is just another criticism of current policy without a single constructive idea on how to actually deal with Iraq.

I might agree that getting into Iraq in the first place was a bad idea…that’s old news…so now what do we do?

Just waving the white flag and running for home will once again prove to the Middle East that the U.S. has no stomach for anything that distracts us from our TIVOs for more than ten minutes at a time. As we saw with Hezbollah, any victory short of complete victory is no victory in the eyes of the people in the Middle East.

If “staying the course” is not a good plan, having absolutely no plan is no better.

Do you think…

…that the family of JonBenet Ramsey will get an apology from the police, best viagra hospital the press, and most of the people in the country for being unofficially convicted in the death of their own daughter now that someone else has finally been arrested for the crime?

I don’t think so either.

But, man, do they deserve one.

Does this count as a simultaneous Correction?

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane has a blog entry ridiculing the government for x-raying shoes.

At the exact same moment, generic cialis treatment the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has a story linked to their home page about how x-rays CAN be an effective method for detecting bombs in shoes.

All I know is I’d hate to be in Eugene’s shoes right about now.

Maybe they should change the name to the “Nutty” Ideas Network.

I listened to Joy Cardin‘s show on the Ideas Network this morning with a good deal of amusement.

Joy’s guests were 9/11 deniers. (Which isn’t the funny part. In fact, sildenafil decease I just find those guys sad.)

The funny part was listening to Joy squirm as the things her guests said got crazier and crazier AND all her callers were agreeing with them.

But that’s what you get when foster a liberal environment where everything the right does is bad and any idea is welcomed with open arms regardless of its merit.

Negatory on the affirmative action there, good buddy.

In an opinion piece about racial unrest between officers in the Milwaukee Police Department, cialis sale advice Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane laments:

It’s the same sad old story in Milwaukee: When black folks get hired or promoted, troche it’s all about “affirmative action.” When white folks get promoted, there’s seldom a question raised about their “qualifications.”

I have a real simple solution for that problem, Eugene…

…get rid of affirmative action.

That way when a black or hispanic gets promoted everyone will recognize that it only happened because they earned it.

Just like most high school diplomas, this opinion piece isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

In today’s USA TODAY, cialis sales patient Monty Neill argues that we should just let unqualified students graduate from high school and get their diploma.

He says:

But denying borderline students the benefit of a diploma hurts both these young people and our country. A teenager with a weak education and a diploma can still get a job and become a contributing member of society.

The reason they can get a job, cialis buy you dumbass, is that a diploma is supposed to mean that the recipient has achieved an acceptable level of knowledge and ability.

What Neill is calling for is basically committing fraud against employers.

To me this is the equivalent of arguing that:

Driving is good.

You can’t drive without a license.

It’s hard to get a license if you’re not a good driver.

But since driving is good, we should just give licenses to people whether they can drive or not.

Of course, the above scenario would lead to the same situation as just giving away undeserved diplomas so that people could get a job …lots of people crashing and burning.

Do you still have to keep a promise, if someone forced you to make it at gunpoint?

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Patrick McIlheran points out that General Motors should honor the commitment they made to provide perpetual healthcare to its retirees.

As he says:

“Generally, sildenafil help companies that make even foolish promises nonetheless ought to not weasel out of them.”

And, online while I agree in principal, prescription I’d like to remind everyone that those promises weren’t made out of the goodness of GM’s heart. They were extorted by the unions using the threat of crippling strikes to get their way.

So my question is: does a promise made at gunpoint have the same moral legitimacy as a promise freely committed to?

Next time the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel comes out against concealed carry…

…let’s remind them that, discount viagra unhealthy in their editorial today, sildenafil they themselves voiced the main reason responsible citizens want to be able to carry guns for self-defense…

“The trouble is, whatever their numbers, police can’t be ever-present.”
