The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel asks, “Can art prompt a more rational dialogue on immigration?”

In response to to their question, viagra canada pilule I ask, seek “What’s irrational about a country wanting to control its own borders?”

As far as I’m concerned, there can be no “rational” discussion about immigration until the pro-illegal immigration coalition stops asserting that anyone who talks about resisting illegal immigration is a racist.

How long do you think it will be…

…before Dave Umhoefer, viagra buy sildenafil the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter who just won a Pulitzer, takes a better job in New York, D.C., or Chicago?

(I’d guess 6 to 8 months.)

This guy’s “ceiling” had me rolling on the floor.

It always cracks me up when someone ascribes miraculous powers of mind domination to advertising.

In his community column in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, viagra cialis Roger Frank Bass wrote “marketing’s job is to control what we attend to and want.”

Ahhhhhhh, sale no.

Marketing’s job is to influence what people attend to.

“Controlling” what people attend to through marketing and advertising isn’t possible. If it were, cialis we would all be living in the United States of Coca Cola.

But, for one moment, let’s assume he’s right.

Let’s assume there are marketing mind control techniques that short circuit free will.

Instead of berating that “fact,” perhaps he should advocate applying those magical techniques to teaching kids the “solid academic and ethical foundation” that he thinks our marketing-dominated culture is denying them?

If he did, my guess is he would discover the same thing that John Wanamaker did in 1886, when he said:

“I know that 50% of my advertising is wasted. I just don’t know which half.”

Not such an impressive percentage for the evil science of mind control, huh?

I think it was really nice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel…

…to tell stalkers exactly where they can find the hottest women in Milwaukee:

Where would you expect to see the largest number of good-looking people in Milwaukee? Water St. on the weekend? The Third Ward?

How about an industrial park on the city’s far northwest side, cialis sale drugstore where fashion models from all over the country arrive every weekday, shop 52 weeks a year?

A plain gray brick building  (EDIT: I REMOVED THE ACTUAL ADDRESS THAT APPEARS IN THE STORY ) is where Kohl’s department stores’ weekly ad circulars are created.

Did they REALLY need to print the actual street address?

Can someone tell me what the hell Eugene Kane is trying to say…

…in this column comparing the recent armed robberies of UWM and Marquette students with “the perennial battle between the townies and the college kids”?

I’ve got to say, buy viagra there I went to a school that had one of those “town and gown” divides and no one ever tried to kidnap me or rob me at gunpoint. The worst the townies ever managed to do was glare at me while they drove around in their pickup trucks listening to country music and spitting Skoal.

Parts of Mr. Kane’s column sounds like he’s blaming the students for being overprivileged and/or not cautious enough. He writes, case “Drive through any of our various metropolitan campuses and you’ll see most students seem oblivious to their appearance as easy marks. Whether it’s the carefree gait or the book bags slung over their backs, there some students must seem as enticing to would-be robbers as a baby seal to a shark.”

I’m not sure what students are supposed to do since we don’t allow them to arm themselves.

(Every time I write a sentence like that I actually go blind with rage at the stupidity of a society that ensures its citizens are disarmed in the face of crime.)

Maybe they’re just not supposed to walk on public streets?

Or maybe they should travel in packs of 15 or more?

Maybe hire guards to escort them back and forth to class?

Or maybe they won’t be safe until every nickel of their “rich” parents’ incomes is stolen through taxes and transferred to the poor uneducated black kids who are currently forced by their circumstances to rob those snotty, over-privileged college students?

Maybe that was Mr. Kane’s point.

I wouldn’t know, since I still don’t understand what the hell he was trying to say.

A death blog?

Apparently, viagra canada purchase the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is keeping track of this year’s carnage online at Milwaukee Homicides: A Closer Look.

This is a great use of the blog format to add depth to the paper’s coverage. Nicely done.

“Racial justice” is an oxymoron

Marquette University professor Bryan N. Massingale talks about racial justice in an opinion piece in today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

But Justice is blind for a reason.

True justice can only be achieved by removing race, sildenafil treat religion, generic cialis for sale wealth, birth, and gender from the equation.

Treating people differently  because of the  color of their skin is not just, it’s just wrong.

Some people swear the media does NOT have a liberal bias

The guy who runs NewsBusters.org would disagree.

This site is one of my favorite reads.
