What Moms do is priceless, but it’s also not income.

In a community column for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, generic cialis medicine Jennifer Fink bemoaned the fact that her Social Security check will be smaller than her husband’s because she stayed home to raise her kids:

Yet if a parent decides to put in the time and effort and works at raising fine, cialis canada decent people instead of raising the gross domestic product, she or he is penalized. Never mind the paychecks she willingly forgoes; the years spent care-giving will negatively affect her future retirement because raising kids doesn’t count in the eyes of the Social Security Administration.

But she misses the point. Social Security is a return on funds that were withheld from an individual’s paycheck.

If you have no paycheck, you pay no social security and are therefore not entitled to receive any money back.

By staying home with her kids, Ms. Fink avoided paying thousands of dollars every year on childcare.

She tries to use the fact that other people would have made money for watching her kids as an argument for why SHE should be compensated for the value of her work.

But if I do my own roof and save $10,000, that money isn’t income…it’s money I get to keep.

I’m not sure why Ms. Fink thinks she should be able to save money and then also earn social security on the money she saved.

Darn it:

Milwaukee aldermen Thursday targeted cars blasting loud music, sildenafil capsule as a Common Council committee backed an ordinance that would make it easier to file complaints against vehicle owners.

Now, I’m gonna have to pry the subwoofer and amp off the back of my chair.

I heard someone on NPR, today…

…call the negative attention that Barack Obama‘s ex-minister Jeremiah Wright has received in the last few months a “media lynching.”

I’d just like to point out that it’s not a lynching, cialis online if you put your own head in the noose.

Prediction:

Within three days, generic cialis thumb Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane will have a post or article about the 16-year-old girl shot by someone in a passing vehicle near Addison, Wisconsin.

He’ll point out that no one is ranting about how the shooting is proof of a “cornfield culture” that encourages such actions unlike the criticism of inner-city culture that appears in the media and in the Cheddarsphere every time a black kid is gunned down in Milwaukee.

As usual, he’ll be right…and yet wrong at the same time.

Yes, no one uses crimes like this senseless shooting or the rampage by the rural cop last year as fodder for a discussion of the failures of white rural culture.

But the occasional existence of such crimes in no way balances or is the equivalent to the unacceptably high level of shootings in Milwaukee’s inner city.

Usually, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board is completely wrong

In this case they are almost completely wrong. They got this part right:

As in years past, viagra buy cialis those in the what-part-of-illegal-don’t-you-understand crowd will watch marchers travel from the south side of Milwaukee, across the 6th St. Viaduct to Veterans Park and see only lawbreakers and their supporters.

THIS is gonna lead to lots of blogging goodness:

Google now let’s you search for people’s quotes in the news:

To access these new features, cialis sales ask first search for a person’s name on Google News. If we have a recent quote, sildenafil we’ll show it above the search results.

Clicking on the speaker’s name will take you to a page with even more of their quotes. From there you can search within the quotes by entering a query on the left side of the page. For example, entering [iraq] in the search box will produce quotes from John McCain that mention Iraq.

For a different viewpoint, try Barack Obama’s quotes on Iraq.

The absolutely BEST part of this story…

…about a discount cialis view 0,1215541.story”>Cougar killed on North Side of Chicago was this “dealing with a cougar” mini-guide:

ENCOUNTERING A COUGAR
– Pick up children immediately.
– Do not approach it. Give the cougar an avenue for escape.
– Do not run; this can trigger an attack.
– Back away without turning your back on it.
– Do all you can to look bigger. Dont hide or crouch down.

They must be expecting a rash of rogue mountain lions any day now.

I ‘gotcha’, Mr. Kane

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane agrees with Obama that backwards attitudes flow from small town America:

Frankly, discount viagra search if it weren’t for the kind of people in small towns in Wisconsin who love guns, viagra pills hate gay marriage, scapegoat illegal immigrants and promote a segregated way of life, there are plenty of politicians who would never get elected around these parts.

Amen, Mr. Kane, and I’d like to add that if it weren’t for the kind of people who live in Milwaukee and Madison and think a person’s race should matter when getting jobs or getting into schools (affirmative action), who hate the idea of people being able to defend themselves (gun control), and love the idea of a few judges overturning the will of the people regardless of the text of State and Federal Constitutions, there are plenty of other politicians who would never get elected around these parts.
