An Equal Opportunity AND Affirmative Action employer?

WUWM, sildenafil hospital Milwaukee’s excellent NPR station, click was advertsiing for a sales manager the other day.

At the end of the “spot” the announcer said, cure “WUWM and UWM are equal opportunity and affirmative action employers.”

Ummm. Excuse me?

Does anyone else notice anything funny here?

Equal Opportunity means that everyone has exactly the same chance as everyone else.

Affirmative Action means that an applicant is given preferential treatment in an attempt to rectify past wrongs.

Both may be laudable.

But they’re definitely incompatible.
